Glen Education Sacred Heart

Collaboration with families

By Glen Sacred Heart Educational Team

We would like to share our service goals for this year:

To continue developing a strong sense relationship with children, families and community.

To encourage families to be a member of the Glen Education VPG (Volunteers Parents Group), supporting our kindergarten with working bee, fundraising, emphasizing the sense of community that comes from volunteering. Families often appreciate the opportunity to meet other families and build relationships.

To maximize outdoor learning experiences and create a safe play area, and interact with nature. Include natural elements, such as sand, water, rocks and plants, veggie garden.  These activities help children develop an appreciation for nature world.

We aim to have an open communication with families, discussion about child’s development, concerns or challenges, involving families in decision making by seeking their unput and perspectives. Respecting families cultural background, beliefs and incorporating these into the Sacred Heart kindergarten practices. Actively engaging with the local community and Sacred Heart Primary School, by participating in community events.

All the families are welcome to engage with a quick survey in the foyer as well as to have a look on the QIP wall, exceeding all the 7 elements (QIP), in the foyer, to interact with Kinderloop the planning notebook displayed in the room, the reflection book, and children’s portfolio.

When children feel supported and valued by their families and educators, they are more likely to thrive and develop a positive sense of self. Children are more likely to feel included and have opportunities to participate fully in the service. Collaboration between families and educators can support children to effectively explore and learn holistically as educators can learn from family’s knowledge and experiences.
