At Glen McKinnon, we strive to create a nurturing environment that supports children in learning lifelong skills and building strong foundations for their future.  Our dedicated team works in partnership with families and the community to achieve goals that reflect our commitment to inclusion, advocacy and meaningful connections. 

Our Service Goals: 

Strengthening Community Partnerships:  

The Glen McKinnon team are actively forging connections with local aged care communities. These partnerships will provide opportunities for intergenerational learning, fostering empathy and understanding in children. Engaging volunteers and families in fundraising initiatives and working bees is another way we bring the community together to support shared goals.  

Embedding Inclusive Practices: 

Inclusion is at the heart of everything the educational team does. We ensure that our program supports all children, celebrating their individual needs and abilities. This focus helps children develop confidence, compassion and a sense of belonging. 

Strengthening Relationships with Families: 

We believe families are vital in shaping children’s development. By working closely with families, we aim to build trusting relationships that enhance children’s learning experiences both at home and in our service. 

Advocating for Children’s Rights: 

Teaching children about their rights and responsibilities is key to empowering children as confident individuals. We incorporate age-appropriate learning experiences that encourage children to understand and practice fairness, respect and their role as active participants in their community. 

Broadening Inclusion of Indigenous perspectives: 

We are deeply committed to embedding Indigenous perspectives into our program. This enriches children’s understanding of Australian’s history, culture and the importance of reconciliation, fostering respect for diversity and heritage.

Through these goals, we provide children with experiences that nurture skills like problem-solving, communication, empathy, and resilience-qualities essential for success in life. Our programs encourage curiosity and creativity, ensuring children are prepared for the challenges ahead.
