Assessment and Rating Result for Glen Education Fern Street Kindergarten: EXCEEDING the National Standard!
We are thrilled to announce that Glen Education Fern Street Kindergarten has achieved an EXCEEDING result in its recent assessment. This accomplishment reflects the dedication, hard work, and collaborative efforts of our educators, leaders, children, and families.
Together, we have created an enriching, inclusive environment that fosters a love for learning.
The assessment highlighted several areas of excellence, including:
Physical Environment:
Aesthetically pleasing, inviting learning environments had been created in both indoor and outdoor areas, which featured a blend of upcycled and new, quality resources and promoted respect for the natural world. The children in the funded 3 and 4 year old kindergarten programs were observed confidently accessing spaces indoors and outdoors which were equipped with ample open-ended materials to support their growing independence and meet their individual needs throughout the day. Children demonstrated a strong sense of connection with and respect for each other and were frequently observed independently engaging in collaborative play experiences.
Respectful relationships:
The service philosophy underpinned and acknowledged the importance of creating supportive and respectful relationships with families. The established connections to local community strengthened children’s interests and skills to be active contributors to the world around them. Families were respected in their role and valued in their diversity and strengths.
Leadership:
The leadership team and all educators at the service used reflective practice and their partnerships with families and the community to strengthen the educational programs, enrich the learning environments, and support professional learning. The observed practice, documentation, processes, and systems in place demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement
