World’s Greatest Shave 2024

Service Round Square Leaders

On Thursday 20 March, Service Round Square held their first initiative of the year. During lunchtime 18 students and seven staff members shaved their heads, while six students cut their hair, for the World’s Greatest Shave Event. This fundraiser is an Australia-wide event, run by the Leukemia Foundation to support the 140,000 families facing blood cancer right now. Participants were able to raise money and awareness for this amazing cause, in our school through shaving their heads, and we have been able to donate 12 individual’s hair to be made into wigs for others facing hair loss due to chemo-therapy. Over the course of the two weeks prior to the event the group were able to raise funds through online donations and a bake sale, raising $32,422 and smashing our initial goal of $10,000. Thankyou to all who participated or donated to this wonderful cause!
