Choosing the right educational opportunities for your child can be challenging, especially considering the varying needs of children at different ages. The early years of schooling are crucial for laying a solid foundation and fostering a strong partnership between students, parents, and the school. These formative years equip students with the essential skills and support needed for future success.
On Friday 21 March, Kinross Wolaroi held our annual Open Day. With many prospective parents, students and families attending, where Junior School showcased firsthand the many facets of a school day our wonderful facilities and various programs and activities. Families were given the opportunity to experience life inside a Junior School classroom. The morning highlighted our approaches to teaching English and Mathematics, Digital technologies, Physical Education and a chance to see our growing silkworms and hatching chickens. Highlighting the diverse and enriching educational opportunities that are available at Kinross Wolaroi School.
Open Days are a valuable opportunity for parents to engage with their child’s educational environment and make well-informed decisions.
It’s always heartwarming to see the community come together. A big thank you to the Parents & Friends Association, the students and all the staff who made it possible.
Harmony Day celebrates diversity, inclusion, and respect for all cultures and backgrounds. Observed annually on March 21st, it promotes understanding and acceptance within communities. Originating in Australia in 1999, it has since gained global recognition. Participants wear orange to symbolise social harmony and unity. Through cultural performances, discussions, and educational activities, Harmony Day fosters a sense of belonging and mutual respect. It underscores the importance of embracing differences and working together to create a harmonious society. By celebrating diversity, Harmony Day promotes peace and cooperation, reminding us that despite our differences, we are united in our humanity.
This week, the Junior School will recognise Harmony Day, an initiative spearheaded by the Student Representative Council (SRC). Embracing this occasion, the SRC encourages students to ponder inclusivity, respect, and fostering a shared sense of belonging for all, principles closely aligned with our school's core values. Harmony Day serves as a platform for promoting unity and appreciation of our collective diversity, reinforcing the importance of empathy and cultural awareness.
At Kinross Wolaroi we value and strive for academic rigour. Students have a myriad of opportunities to engage in enriching learning experiences which in some instances the school provides or facilitates student access to them.
