Cuddles Crosses and Kinder SPaR in the Church
Last Thursday Kindergarten attended their first SPaR in the Church supported by parents. Immersing students in the church enables them to become confident and comfortable in God’s home and exploring some of the rituals and symbols supports students building their knowledge and faith. We shared a story about talking to God and praying and concluded the session with each student receiving their very own Cuddle Cross with an OLSS Prayer Book that they can use daily with the support of their family to grow in faith at home.
SHROVE Tuesday
On Tuesday our community gathered to gether to celebrate the ritual of “FEASTING BEFORE FASTING". We'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the wonderful parents who helped cook and serve the students of Our Lady Star of the Sea. Many hands make light work and what a perfect way to prepare for the Lenten Season.
ASH WEDNESDAY
Wednesday saw the students gather together to celebrate this ritual of receiving the ashes- marking the start of the 2026 LENTEN SEASON. Families are encouraged to use the flyer that was sent home to participate as a family to journey through LENT together. This season invites each one of us to reflect on our relationship with God and the way we live our lives. We are called to renew ourselves and live as disciples of Jesus- “RENEWAL and GRATITUDE” this Lent.
