Welcome to Lent

Lent is a sacred season in the Church - a time to Pray, Fast and Give Alms as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

As a school community, we began Lent by celebrating Mass and participating in a reverent Ash Wednesday Liturgy. It was a beautiful opportunity to gather in faith and reflect on how each of us can grow closer to God during these 40 days.

Our major Lenten fundraiser will once again be through Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion. Students will receive Project Compassion money boxes to take home should they wish to contribute and raise funds for those in need. Each classroom will also have a large collection box to encourage us, as a community, to support this important cause.

Through our prayer, sacrifice and generosity, we can make a real difference in the lives of others.

St Joseph’s Feast Day - 19th March

Please mark your calendars for Thursday 19th March, as Our Lady Star of the Sea celebrates our School Feast Day in honour of St Joseph.

Last year we were blessed to welcome the Sisters of Saint Joseph from Orange to join us in celebration. This year, we look forward to continuing that wonderful spirit of community and faith.

The day will include: Mass, performances from our specialised groups, sausage sizzle, time together as a school community
