Year 9/10 Girls and Year 9/10 Boys Touch Football

On Thursday, May 16th, the Southern All Schools Touch Football competition heated up at Jubilee Park. Our very own Year 9 and 10 girls and boys teams put on a stellar performance, showcasing their teamwork, skill, and unwavering spirit throughout the day.

The competition was fierce, with talented teams from across the region battling it out for top honours. Our students approached each game with determination, displaying impressive agility and tactical awareness on the field. Their communication and support for each other were a true highlight, creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

Kildare faced teams from Murrumbidgee High School, Kooringal High School, Junee High School, TRAC, Temora High School and Hennessy Catholic College. Both teams experienced losses in their round games and only just made the semi-final. It was the perfect time to find form and both the boys and girls teams won their semi-finals convincingly. This meant both teams were to meet the schools in the grand final who they lost to in the round games, our students were facing a massive challenge.

The girls team faced Murrumbidgee High School in the grand final and were ahead all game. The teamwork and positive attitude demonstrated by our students was admirable and we won 5-3.  The Yr 9 and 10 boys team were 3-1 down with 5 minutes to go against Kooringal High School. Some very impressive touch skills saw 4 quick tries to win the grand final, also 5-3.

Congratulations to both the Year 9 and 10 girls and boys teams who were overall winners on the day.  They will join the Year 7 and 8 teams in Sydney for the State Final later in the year.

Year 7/8 Girls Touch Football

On Wednesday 15th of May, Kildare sent a girls and boys team to participate in the Southern All Schools Touch Carnival.  The carnival consisted of teams from Wagga and the surrounding areas.

The Year 7 and 8 Girls team dominated their pool games, keeping all opponents scoreless throughout. They played teams from TRAC, Wagga High and Murrumbidgee High School. This meant that the girls now progressed to the Semi Final where they faced a new TRAC team. The girls continued to demonstrate outstanding teamwork, communication and positivity, as well as some exceptional touch skills and won this game 5-3, meaning they now progressed to the Grand Final to play Wade High School.

This game was no different to the previous one in the composure that the girls showed and the outstanding skills that they demonstrated. The girls came out victorious winning 6-3 and now progress to the State Final which will be played in Sydney in August.

Well done girls, on an amazing day.

The boys participated in the Southern NSW All Schools Touch Football Competition at Jubilee Park. They had 4 games in their pool with an attitude of must win to get to the Semi and Grand Final. The team worked well together and took on board every ounce of feedback to keep improving throughout the games. Despite some setbacks in some games, the boys succeeded on their goal to progress through to the Grand Final. With determination and prowess, they fought a hard game in the Grand Final against Wagga High overcoming them 7 to 2 goals. The boys are super excited to be named champions and progress to the next round. We are extremely proud of the way they have played and upheld themselves throughout the day.

All Schools Netball 2024

On Thursday 2nd May, Kildare sent five netball teams to the All Schools Netball Competition at Equex, facing off against teams from around the Wagga area.

Year 9/10 Girls

The Year 9/10 girls had a particularly exciting run in the competition. They dominated their match against Temora High School, showcasing their impressive skills. The following games against TRAC and Mater Dei were nail-biters! The Kildare girls battled hard against TRAC, with the score tied at the final whistle. Unfortunately, their other round match against Mater Dei ended in a one-goal defeat. With a win, loss and a draw in the round games, the team progressed to the finals – once again facing TRAC. This final match was another intense display of netball talent, but ultimately, Kildare fell just short, losing by a single point on the buzzer.

Year 9/10 Boys

The 9/10 boys team started the day with some convincing victories over the other teams in the region. They came out strong and their confidence as a team grew throughout the day. They met their match with the Christian College boys, the only team to beat them for the day. They played well and due to their efforts have made it through to the next stage of the competition.

Year 7/8 Girls

Blue

The 7/ 8 girls blue team had a really strong performance throughout the day! They had some really exciting wins against Temora and Christian College, with our only losses of the day going to TRAC!

Due to the draw, there were no finals for the day, however, the girls' cohesive performance meant we finished second on the ladder, progressing to the next stage of the competition!

Red

The 7/8  girls red team played well on the day, with convincing wins against Christian College and Temora High School to start the day.  Unfortunately, we were hit with a couple of injuries, leaving us with 6 players.  Despite this, the girls demonstrated great sportsmanship, playing with grit and determination to see out the day.  Ultimately, 7/8 girls red had 4 wins and 2 losses to finish 3rd for the day. We would like to thank the players from the blue team who stepped in to help us out in our moment of need.

Year 7/8 Boys

The 7/8 Boys Netball Team participated in a number of games against schools within the Wagga region. Despite some nerves in their first game, they worked well together and demonstrated great skills in overcoming each team to triumph and progress to the next stage.
