This coming Friday and Saturday we celebrate the extraordinary contribution of the Presentation Sisters who 150 years ago, inspired by their founder Nano Nagle,  set out from Kildare Ireland to establish schools from Southern Sydney to the Riverina starting with our preceding schools of Mount Erin High School and St Mary’s Primary along with Mount Erin Boarding.

Today we live out that heritage within Kildare Catholic College.

We are proud to be a part of these celebrations and look forward to sharing them with you all.

If you haven't lodged an RSVP for Saturday please do so today to

We look forward to the commissioning of Presentation Way between Red Hill and Holbrook Roads with an avenue of trees also planted in remembrance of their contribution to Wagga Wagga.

This is a week for sport with all our AFL teams are likely to play in finals, U/15, Open, boys and girls. Along with that our senior girl netballers play their semi final. Along with that we have had a number of students across a range of sports trialling for NSW CCC sides. So much success doesn't happen by accident. Along with their own talents as players we have a number of our staff giving up significant time to support them to be their best. It is a wonderful hallmark of the Kildare community that there is so much generosity.

Earlier this week Pope Francis wrote a letter to all young people urging them to realise that Christ is alive today and wants us to live in a way that is fully alive.

“In today’s world, marked by so many conflicts and so much suffering, I suspect that many of you feel disheartened. So together with you, I would like to set out from the proclamation that is the basis of our hope and that of all humanity: ‘Christ is alive!’” Read Pope Francis’ letter here

This week our staff took part in a twilight professional learning program focusing on literacy supported by CEDWW leaders of learning Tara McCarthy, Jacqui Galvin and Michelle Shaw. With a much more explicit focus on the teaching of literacy in new curriculum following the Masters review into NSW education; it is important our staff continue to be at the leading edge of learning to support the teaching of our students. My thanks to Ms Verdon, Mrs Larkin and Mrs Scutti for their work in preparation for this.

Our enrollment numbers are very strong for 2025. Demand is such that we will soon be moving applicants to the waiting list. We have interviewed most of our applicants from non-feeder and feeder schools and will be completing our interviews over the next few weeks. We can’t move forward with enrolments without interviews so please help us to help you by being available to meet, whether a young person is a sibling of a current student or not. It would be unfortunate to not be able to progress any enrolments. Thanks for your support with this.

Between now and the end of term we will be reviewing our mobile phone policy. Any change will take account of feedback along with the research consensus on mobile phones in schools. We need a policy that works effectively and is sustainable.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the college.
