Sport News

Last Tuesday, Templestowe Reserve echoed with the determination of our students at the House Cross Country, alongside our Junior Cross Country held at school.  With resilience and a fantastic growth mindset, students tackled the challenging courses head-on.

We applaud every participant for their unwavering efforts and dedication.  Special congratulations are in order for those who secured a spot in the top 10, earning them a chance to compete at the district level next week.

Well done to all for embodying our school values of perseverance and sportsmanship

Do you have a group? Well I do! I belong to a Czech Republic group because my mum’s lovely family is Czech which makes me Czech. I like being Czech because I love the food and the traditional costumes.  My favourite food is meatloaf and some of the really delicious desserts. I love being part of this group!

What group do you belong to? I belong to a chess group! I go there every Monday (unless it’s school holidays). The chess club is held in the STEM room. Sometimes it’s held in some other classrooms. I’ve only been in another class once, it was 3B. In chess club you learn how to play chess, skewers, discovery attacks, the golden rules and a bunch of other stuff. I like chess club because it’s fun, you learn new attacks on how to win wonderful games and best of all… you can get medals! But that’s not the best bit, the best of all is that you get to play chess!

Do you belong to a group? I do! I am part of a basketball group. I like to be part of it because it is really fun, you get to make new friends and play matches with other teams. Being in a basketball group, you will need good teamwork and sportsmanship. Our team is called Tempy Stars and I am number 6. If you like it, I think you should join a basketball team too!

Have you ever been in a music group? Well…. luckily I have! Being in a music group is really, really fun! I play the piano and clarinet. I swapped viola for clarinet and I also play the harp. For piano I use the suzuki method. I recommend music because it's great and an awesome hobby!

Do you like your group? I do, because I play tennis. It’s really exciting! I do volley, backhands, forehands, serving, crosscourts and matches. The reason I started tennis was because I only had one sport.  Fortunately, it’s good for your health, and you get to play in the sun!

Do you belong to a sports group? Luckily, I do! I belong to a big soccer group. It’s important to me because you can improve skills and learn new things …. and make new friends! I play for Manningham Juventus, and I absolutely love it!

Do you have a group you belong to? Luckily I do! I belong to a very special group where you can be creative. It is Glow Worm Studios where we do art! I love this group because I can learn new art skills. Every week, we do different activities. It is so cool that I am having my birthday party there.

Do you belong to a group? I do. I belong to a gymnastics group where you can get along with other people and teach each other skills. For example, we teach each other how to do things like cartwheels. In my opinion, I enjoy gymnastics because I like to learn how to do things. Also, it’s just something really fun to do.

Do you belong in a swimming group? Because I do. I love swimming because I get to learn how to swim different strokes and if you fall in a lake or a swimming pool, you will know how to swim. It’s also really fun.
