Transactional text

A transactional text is a  non-fiction piece of writing used to communicate information with another person. 

These can include; letters, emails and postcards. 

In the children's transactional text they need to include: 

• Dear/To
• A question
• A Statement
• From 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Children can write a letter to their favourite singer asking them to come and perform at their school and why. 

For example: 

Dear Bruno Mars,

I'm in Grade 1 and I LOVE your music!

Please come perform at our school! We'll dance and sing along! We have a big playground and a stage. 

Will you play your guitar for us too?

Please come! We'll save you cookies and juice!
