Art Showcase ~ Utopia
Thank you very much to all the students who have created entries for the Art showcase. Our corridors look incredible with the many different creations, which capture what their individual sense of Utopia is. It truly brightens my day, when our talented students proudly bring their artworks in, and share with me the thinking behind their designs.
Thank you very much to all the families who have supported this extra-curricular opportunity.

Art News
Our students have already explored a range of resources this term in Art.
The collaborative poppies, which our Grade 5s created look spectacular in the passageways. The deep vivid colours are a result of a lot of effort and many oil pastels! Our Grade 2 students have created beautiful stain glass window poppies, which are adorning some of the windows throughout the school, and bringing lovely beams of colours on our beautiful Autumn days.
Our Grade Prep printed poppies and Grade 4 mosaic poppies are also bringing colour and interest to our passageways. How lucky we are to be surrounded by such impressive creations. I don’t think you could find better decorators than our students here at Delacombe Primary School!
Our junior students have been exploring self and identity, through the creation of self-portraits. They followed step by step instructions, to create a beautiful representation of themselves.
Our middle and senior students are currently looking at the style of Victorian artist Pete Cromer, who is famous for his vibrant bird art. Students have used their design skills to transform plain white paper into eye catching creations, which they will then use to create collage birds. Students are exploring colour tones and the technique of layering to add technical detail to their artworks. We cannot wait to see the finished results!
Take care everyone!
