LEST WE FORGET

ANZAC day 25 April, marks the anniversary of the Australian and New Zealand forces landing at Gallipoli and is the day we remember the sacrifice of those who have died in war.

Learning about ANZAC Day helps children connect with Australian history and understand the importance of this national day of remembrance. It also helps young children to understand the life and times of Australia and its people.

By building young children’s understandings about the traditions, facts and folklore of ANZAC Day, the many real life stories of sacrifices and heroism of everyday Australians will not be lost, but be handed down to future generations.

It is our country’s way of not glorifying war or conflict. Rather, that as Australians, we can all grieve and have empathy for all people who have or are experiencing conflict. Lets all mark the day to remember all of our people and work together for peace.

School Uniform

Our school Uniform is one way we can show our pride in our school and in ourselves as a part of this fantastic learning community. I want to congratulate students for arriving to school in uniform.  As we are heading into the winter months it was felt that it was timely to remind everyone that the wearing of school uniform is compulsory at RHPS. Every effort is made to make sure that the uniform is made available at a reasonable cost and similar items can be found at discount stores.  Very handy when the kids seem to growing faster than we can keep up with them J .  If families are having difficulty please check in with Salwa, Sandra or Tamara.  Sometimes we have good quality second hand items that may be available.

The Purpose of our school uniform is:

  1. To ensure that all students have uniform clothing of a high quality which is durable, attractive and comfortable.
  2. To promote the school’s identity and image both within and beyond the school community.
  3. To add to the degree of safety and security of all children both in the school grounds and on excursions.

Thank you for supporting your child and the school in this.
