Our budding writers have been on a poetic journey, exploring various styles such as ballad and free verse poems. Witnessing their creativity blossom as they weave words into captivating verses has been truly inspiring. As we delve deeper into our poetry unit, we're excited to intertwine it with our unit of inquiry, fostering connections and deeper understanding. Seeing our students revel in the joy of crafting poetry is a testament to their imaginative spirits.

In Reading, Students have immersed themselves in the fascinating world of Bronwyn Bancroft through our author study. Utilising the front covers of her books as a springboard, they've honed their predictive skills, delving into the text with anticipation and curiosity. This practice seamlessly aligns with the strategies we are nurturing in our reciprocal reading groups, fostering a deeper engagement with the material. Furthermore, students have been tackling SOLO taxonomy questions, an integral part of our learning journey, to further enhance their comprehension skills and foster independent thinking. It's wonderful to see their enthusiasm and growth as they navigate these enriching reading experiences.

In Maths, Students have been delving into the diverse representations of numbers to uncover underlying patterns. They've discerned the rules governing these patterns and have been empowered to forge their own. Demonstrating impressive problem-solving prowess, students have tackled a variety of worded math problems in our lessons, showcasing their growing mathematical skills and critical thinking abilities.

Lastly in Inquiry, Students have been immersing themselves in Dreaming stories, delving deep into their rich themes and symbolism. Additionally, they've embarked on an exploration of the profound significance behind the Walk for Reconciliation. Through research and discussion, Students have gained insight into how this symbolic walk has raised awareness about Indigenous rights and reconciliation across Australia. Engaging in reflective dialogues within small groups, students have further internalised these important lessons, fostering empathy and understanding within our learning community.
