Parent Information Session, Foundation Enrolments, Lunchtime Clubs and Running Clu

Where: In the APS Year 1/2 BER building

During education week, we wish to invite parents to an information session on reading in Foundation and Year 1/2.
This information session will focus on UFLI Foundations, the structured phonics program in F-2 and how parents can support early years’ learning at home. We believe that children will achieve more when we create strong and effective partnerships with our parent community.
This session is specifically designed for Foundation & Year 1/2 families,however we welcome anyone interested in learning more about how to support their child to learn to read.

The parent session will be held in person, however a video will be posted on Compass for parents who are unable to attend.
Please register your information to attend the parent session in the below form. Leadership will be available to supervise students in an adjoining classroom in the BER, however duty of care will remain with parents at this time.
The Mother's Day Stall is back and better than ever. The stall will be open Thursday the 9th of May from 9-11:00. All classes will visit the stall together and have the option of purchasing some gifts for the special mother figure if their lives. Gifts range from $1 to $10 and the maximum spend per student is $20. Please provide your child with small notes ($5/$10) or coins as we can not guarantee appropriate change for larger notes.
We are in need of volunteers to support the running of the Mother's Day Stall, including set up and pack up. If you are available between 8:45am and 11:30am on Thursday 9th May, please call or text Dalila on 0414 880 804.
Volunteers are required to sign in at the office and then meet in the gym from 8.45am onward on the day of the stall.All volunteers must have previously provided a copy of their Working with Children check to the office along with a signed Childsafe Code of Conduct (see attached). These can both be forwarded to aberfeldie.ps@education.vic.gov.au . If you are unsure if we have these on file, please contact the office.
If you have a child who is due to commence Foundation in 2025, enrolments are now open.
The enrolment form is attached for you to download.
Please email the completed form along with a copy of your child’s immunisation history and birth certificate/or passport to Aberfeldie.ps@education.vic.gov.au
Enrolments are required to be submitted by Friday 26th July.
Enrolment confirmations will be sent out by Friday 9th August.

Running Club will commence this Wednesday the 1st of May at 8.30am on the netball courts or the gymnasium if the weather is inclement.
Running Club will alternate with a lunchtime session on Wednesdays at 2pm.

Running Club is a voluntary and optional activity that promotes healthy lifestyle habit and is offered to all students at Aberfeldie Primary School.
