Queen Street Bridge connects Altona Meadows to Altona and beyond. It is used by 16,000 vehicles a day but it is missing a safer way for cyclists and pedestrians to cross.
Between 2016 and 2021, twenty-six crashes occurred on Queen Street between Victoria and Maidstone streets. Ten crashes involved cyclists and four resulted in serious injury.
That’s why I am asking you to join me in calling for funding for a Queen Street Pedestrian and Cycling Bridge across Laverton Creek.
I encourage you to share this with your friends and neighbours across our community so we can demonstrate the strong community support for this important connection.
