EDUCATION WEEK - OPEN DAYS ….AND  NIGHT

Education Week is an opportunity for all schools to celebrate education in Victoria. At Donvale Primary School we have organised a number of opportunities for families to come and celebrate all the wonderful learning happening in classrooms and specialist lessons.

Tuesday 14th May

  • Grandparents'/Special person Morning tea 9am - 10:15am

This is a wonderful opportunity for special family members or friends to spend time in classrooms, view musical performances and enjoy a morning tea in the hall.

  • Open classrooms, BBQ and performances 4:45pm - 6:30pm

Visit classrooms, join in our whole school art project, participate in STEM and PE activities and enjoy performances by our choirs and Marimba band,  as well as Mandarin performances.

Wednesday 15th May

  • Open classrooms 9am - 10am

Families are welcome to spend time in their child’s classroom and participate in various activities

OPEN NIGHT BBQ

Traditionally, during Open Night, parents at Donvale Primary School run a BBQ stall selling sausages, hamburgers and drinks. This is a great fundraising opportunity for the school.

It would be fabulous if parents could volunteer some time during the Open Night to help with the BBQ stall. We will be sending a Compass message asking for help, with a link to the Sign Up Zone. Many hands make light work!

EDUCATION SUB-COMMITTEE

This week the Education Sub-committee presented two policies to School Council for approval  – The Child Safety Code of Conduct and the Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy. These two policies are mandated by the Department of Education and demonstrate our school’s commitment to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation. They apply to all school staff, volunteers and contractors who work here at Donvale Primary School.

Please take the time to familiarise yourself with these policies
