Year 9 & 10 Students Lead Revegetation Project at School

In an era of increasing environmental awareness, educational institutions are stepping up to cultivate a generation of eco -stewards. At WHS a group of enthusiastic Year 9 & 10 students have embarked on a transformative journey in environmental science. Their mission? To spearhead a revegetation project within the school grounds. This initiative not only fosters a deeper understanding of environmental issues but also empowers students to take tangible action for a sustainable future.

The seeds of this project were sown during a classroom discussion on the importance of biodiversity and conservation efforts. Inspired by their learning, students expressed a collective desire to contribute meaningfully to their local ecosystem. With the guidance of their teachers and support from the school administration, the idea of a revegetation project took root.

Wellbeing Community Garden

Students across all year levels area also actively learning about landscaping and horticulture as they embrace working in our 'Wellbeing & Community Garden'. Initially established a few years ago to support the Food Technology area, this garden has now grown into a beautiful space shared by many of our students at recess and lunch, while wonderfully maintained by our Education Support team of staff and some wonderful young students.
