Principal's Report

Carly Avery

Dear Parents and Friends,

What a great day we had for Cross Country on Monday, perfect Autumn weather. It was wonderful to see so many supporters come along.

We would like to congratulate Stephanie Mason and her husband Tom on their exciting news of baby number three! Whilst this is very exciting she will be missed by all. A replacement for term four is being finalised.

This weekend we have our annual Mother’s Day Street Stall. Thanks to the team who have put work into preparing for this stall and the donations rolling in. A reminder to please send Wood raffle tickets in by Friday, as this will be drawn at the end of the stall on Saturday.

This year all Sandhurst schools are transitioning to Microsoft 365. This coming weekend it is our turn. Please note that staff will not have access to emails this weekend whilst the changeover takes place. Email addresses for staff will remain the same. Thanks in advance for your patience and support with this changeover.

A shout out for any parents who may be interested in organising a Hot Dog Lunch order day. It would involve ordering ingredients, getting orders in prior to the day, cooking and cleaning up on the day. Depending on interest from parents and orders we may look to make this more regular.

Absences Protocols

As the weather begins to change I thought it was timely to give some general reminders around absences. As we know daily school attendance is important for all children and young people to succeed in education and to ensure they don’t fall behind both socially and developmentally.

These protocols follow Catholic Education Sandhurst policies.

  • Notification from a parent or guardian is required if your child is away from school.
  • Our preference for notification is via PAM, other options include an email to class teachers, a phone call or verbally to class teachers or admin staff.
  • Reasons for absence must be recorded by the school. These may include sickness, appointments or family events/ holidays.
  • Where notification is not received an SMS will be sent to parents or guardians. If this is not responded to a phone call will be made and/ or a second parent/ guardian contacted. Following this emergency contacts will be contacted. If contact is still not made a wellbeing check by authorities will be organised.
  • Students who arrive late or leave early need to be signed in and out at the office.
  • Supervision for students on site begins at 8:30am.
  • Students who catch the bus need to fill in the bus form at the office each morning.

Thanks for your continued support and communication with these protocols.

SAKG - Pizza Competition

Students have loved making pizzas with Maria in SAKG. They now have a chance to create their own and win a fantastic prize!

Most students have had a chance to enter already by completing a worksheet in class called “Create your own pizza”. Using their cooking knowledge and creativity they drew and wrote their ingredients before naming their pizza. Any students who missed out can request a copy from their teacher and return by May 25th. Don’t forget!

The chefs at Bridge Road Brewery will pick the winner. The pizza will then be featured on their specials board for a few weeks; the winner will be invited to dinner with their family and make the winning pizza in the brewery kitchen with Maria!

Wanted for the Art Room

Does anyone have old compact discs (CDs) they no longer need? Any donations would be much appreciated.
