Grade Prep

Maths

The students loved the unit on the topic Patterns, we discussed the patterns we see in  nature, in our homes and school. 

Days of the week 

Your child may have come home singing 'the days of the week song'! We discussed the meaning of the  vocabulary  - yesterday, today and tomorrow. 

Reading

The students have settled in to the Sounds Write lessons and  famialr with the lessons. It has been great to see their confidence develop. They have also been learning about the characters and setting in the mentor texts. 

Writing 

The students have been recording their memory / ideas into their Writers Notebook. They follow the steps to record their ideas. We have been learning to:

1. Think - I can come up with an idea 
2. Draw - I can draw a picture of my idea
3. Label - I can write a letter or words for parts of my picture

Buddies

The Prep and Grade 6 students come together every 2nd week. The students love this time together. 

We are so proud of all the Prep students. They have come so far in their learning this term.
