News from our School Garden...

Grade Three and Four students have just completed the second unit in their Permaculture In Primary School sessions, “catch and store energy.” We have looked at the many ways we do this at school, harvesting rainwater, making passata and saving seeds for our Seed Bank. The “Foodies” activities are very popular with students cooking from the garden each week to share with their classmates.

Greenhouse

The amazing greenhouse is in full swing with hundreds of vegetable and herb seedlings emerging from their punnets! Soon you will see students hard work appearing on the seedling stall at the front of school: broad beans, sugarsnap peas, shelling peas, snow peas, coriander, parsley, celery, kale and so much more.

Prep Sunflower Meadow

Enjoyed by students, staff, families and visitors to the school (and also an army of sparrows!!), students have now saved seeds from the sunflower heads and deposited into The Seed Bank for next year's buddy program and you will also find some for sale on the seedling stall.
