R.E. News
On Tuesday we celebrated our beginning of school mass. Fr. John spoke to the students about how they can be the ‘light and salt’ this year. Our Mass was supported by Jane, the Choir and Band who led the school through music.
During the year, we will have the opportunity to celebrate Liturgies, including the Sacraments in our class levels. Please check the newsletter for the dates of these and other special events and celebrations.
On February 14th, we mark the beginning of Lent with Ash Wednesday Liturgies held in respective year-level classrooms. Lent is a time for reflection, repentance, and preparation for the joyous celebration of Easter. During this special season, we are called to focus on three pillars:
- Prayer: Deepening our connection with God through individual and communal prayers.
- Fasting: Practicing self-discipline and sacrifice, reminding ourselves of what truly matters.
- Almsgiving: Showing compassion and generosity towards those in need.
By embracing these practices, we create a welcoming space for God's presence in our lives.
Our Sacramental Program this year will involve a commitment to the Sacrament your child will be receiving. The commitment includes: completing the home program, the attendance at a family night and receiving the Sacrament. We will be sending a note home with children who will be receiving the Sacraments this year. The proposed dates for the Sacraments are listed below.
