Do all that you do with love ~

Dear Families,

Here we are nearly at the end of week 3 already. It's been a wonderful start to the school year and we look forward to welcoming you all at our Welcome Barbecue this evening. As well as our sausage sizzle, we have a coffee van onsite for the purchase of hot drinks and slushies. Bring a picnic blanket, bring some snacks or just bring yourselves - it's a great opportunity for us to say hello, welcome back existing families, meet new families and have a little fun. I'm just so glad the weather has behaved for us!

It brings such joy to walk around the school and see how well the children have settled into the school year. Our Foundation classes are absolute superstars - they have very quickly picked up the routines and have taken to school life like ducks to water. We are very proud of them.

Child Safety

Last year, I shared changes to entering the school via the office and explained that this was part of our Child Safe procedures. Thank you to everyone for assisting us with implementing these changes, it is much appreciated.

On our school website, www.sttcbourne.catholic.edu.au, you will find a range of documents that outline how we keep your child safe at school. Our Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy details how our school meets the child safe standards. A range of other important child safe documents are also found here including our Child Safety Code of Conduct. All staff members, visitors, volunteers and contractors are required to read and sign this as it outlines how we expect everyone to treat children at our school. Attached below is a simple explanation of each of the standards. This should provide a snapshot of the work that we do at St Therese's to keep all of our children safe.

Getting to know you meetings

You have all received an invitation via PAM to book a time for a 'Getting to Know You Meeting' with your child's class teacher/s. The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teacher/s and discuss anything you feel they need to know, any goals for the year and generally ‘get to know each other a little. Assessment data will not be shared at this meeting and academic progress so far this year will not be discussed as our focus is for you to share what is important for us to know about your child.

Please complete the short questionnaire that has been sent home and send it back to your child's class teacher. This will form the foundations of the getting to know conversation.
