COLLEGE

UPDATE

Term 1: Week 5

LAST WEEK:

SCHOOL PHOTOS:

We were incredibly impressed to see students taking such pride in their uniforms, and personal grooming ahead of school photos, last week! Keep up the great work, 'Team St Mary's!'

SHROVE TUESDAY:

Thank you to those who were involved with Shrove Tuesday. Our student leaders, with smiling faces, braved the early morning arrival at school to cook and serve-up a spectacular pancake breakfast. It was a terrific morning, enjoyed by staff and students alike!

ASH WEDNESDAY:

Last Wednesday, together with Catholics from around the world, we gathered to recognise Ash Wednesday and the commencement of Lent. Our Liturgy was a true celebration of our Catholic Identity, led by student leaders.

Please be reminded, throughout Lent, each Friday, the Tuckshop will only serve Vegetarian and fish-based recipes.

THIS WEEK (5):

HALFWAY POINT!

This week marks our halfway point of Term 1, we are officially at Week 5 of 10! At this point in the term, students should have now developed solid study habits to ensure they are well prepared for the end of term assessments, which will be here before we know it!  If you child needs help with their study habits, please talk with their Pastoral Mentor.

SPORT ROTATIONS - PLEASE REMEMBER SWIMMERS!

Before Week 5 kicks into full swing, please remind your child to review the Sport Rotation Schedule, which is found on the Sports Canvas Page. Swimming is one of the activities currently on rotation; it's essential all students remember to bring their swimmers on their allocated swimming day!

'ACE YOUR EXAMS'

On Monday, our Year 11 and 12 students are invited to attend an Elevate session called 'Ace your Exams.' We strongly encourage students to take up this opportunity as the session provides a wealth of information that will be of great benefit come exam time!

Additionally, we are hosting a parent/carer information seminar on Monday afternoon. Although registration has now closed, please email Sophie McQueen if you wish to attend.

YEAR 7 WELCOME EVENING

The Year 7 Welcome Evening is this Thursday. This is a great opportunity for all Year 7 families to meet the Pastoral Mentors and members of the College Leadership Team. It is also a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the 'St Mary's Way' whilst network with other families in the Year 7 cohort.

ACTION AGAINST BULLYING DAY

On Friday, we will recognise 'Action Against Bullying' Day. A number of activities will be run throughout the day designed to encourage students to 'Keep the Conversation Going.' We look forward to providing an update on this next week.
