This Week's Updates

Dear Parents,

I am very proud of our Year Six students who  participated with great enthusiasm and courage, despite a bit of anxiety in attending camp and extending themselves out of their comfort zone in many activities. I am also extremely proud of their behaviour and attitude towards one another. The camp staff specifically commented on the manners and behaviour of our students compared to many other schools who attend. Look out in next weeks newsletter for a few photos and feedback from the students.

Office Administration News

We are delighted to announce that we have employed Emir Bajcic to join our Office Administration team. Emir, who brings out of school experience to our St James community, is expected to commence on Monday 4 March. Throughout this term, please be a little extra patient than usual as we have a number of generous staff filling in and Emir learns our system of operating.

Parent Information Sessions this Wednesday evening

We are expecting all parents to attend the class and whole school information sessions on Wednesday evening. This provides an opportunity to hear information pertinent to your child's class from their teacher. Sessions will be run in either your child's class or the other class next door. The second session is a repeat of the first session to provide parents the option of which one to attend.

6.00pm Class Session #1 in Classrooms

6.45pm Whole School Session in Reynolds Community Centre

7.20pm Class Session #2 (repeat of session #1) in Classrooms

Student Representative Council

We have elected our Semester One Reps from Years One to Six (Preps commence in Semester Two) and will present these students with their badges at our Prayer Service/Assembly on this Friday, 16 Feb 2.30pm in the Reynolds Community Centre.

Please hand any relevant medication into the office this week.

District Swimming Trials

This is the last call out for any student in Years 3-6 who would like to try out for the District Swimming.  We have trials running on Wednesday 14th February at Aquanation Ringwood from 7.30am until 8.30am.  You will be required to bring your child to the trials and wait with them until their trial is over and bring them to school.  Please bring any medicine they require also.

If your child is interested (quite low numbers this year in comparison to previous years so please sign up ASAP) do so by filling out the form here by 3pm Tuesday 13th February. Your child must o be turning 9 by the end of this year to qualify.  Any questions, please email Catherine Wall at catherine.wall@sjvermont.catholic.edu.au

Drop off and pick up parking at the front of the school

Please remember that the drop off and pick up areas each side of the main driveway gate is a two minute only area. If you wish to park, leave your car and walk down the driveway, please park a little further away in the appropriate zone.

Recently, we have had too many cars parked in the 2 min zone which causes traffic congestion.
