The Year One students recently had an in school visit with animal encounters and told me all about the types of wildlife they saw, felt, smelt and learnt about such as stick insects, tarantulas, sea stars, cockroaches, millipedes etc. As a result of this enthusiastic conversation, we decided we would create forms of these creatures using air drying clay - Magiclay. We focused on 'realism' whilst building the creature, but then used 'creativity' for colouring and texturing. They produced amazing results!!
