Dear parents and carers,
Thank you to all our helpers!
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the classroom helpers, parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, who have supported our classrooms, camps, excursion, sports programs and kitchen/ garden program. Sadly, we were unable to do our traditional thank you morning tea due to our building works and split timetable, but we look forward to this and many other things returning to normal next year.
Highlights of the year
Some highlights from this year have been our fabulous camps to Wombat Corner, Phillip Island, Canberra and Cave Creek, our Year 1 Science night, the Year 2 sleepover and the Prep breakfast, where the children got to spend time with their friends, socialise and challenge themselves by learning something new. Our sport gala days, swimming and athletic events allowed children to demonstrate their sporting prowess and the Year 5 and 6 tour of Japan allowed students to practise their Japanese language and money skills, appreciate a completely different culture and build independence as international travellers!
I have also loved seeing the children in the classrooms and the playground as they have learnt and played, demonstrating our expected behaviours be respectful, be resilient and be empathetic.
School Holidays
The summer school holidays are an amazing opportunity for students to refresh and recharge after a huge year of learning. We encourage you and your children to have some screen free time each day, get outside into the fresh air and aim for some active and creative play each day.
Remember that while many routines go out the window over the holidays, it is a good idea to start returning to school day bedtimes and wake up times about a week before returning to school. Finding hats and lunchboxes (or putting them away safely) avoids last minute panic and stress as the return to school gets closer. It is also a time to speak positively with your child about the opportunities and challenges that the new year may hold for them.
I wish you all a happy and safe holiday break and can’t wait to see you all again next year.
