Breakfast Club Reminder

A friendly reminder that Breakfast Club operates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30am to 9:00am.

We warmly welcome students to join us for a healthy breakfast and a positive start to the day. To ensure a smooth transition into learning, Breakfast Club finishes promptly at 9:00am. This allows staff time to supervise students moving to class and ensures everyone is settled and ready for the start of teaching and learning at 9:10am.

Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a calm and organised start to the school day.

SEL Focus: Regulation and Dysregulation

This week in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), students are exploring the concepts of regulation and dysregulation. Through engaging discussions and activities, students are learning how their brains and bodies respond to different situations and emotions.

Students will develop an understanding that being regulated means feeling calm, focused and ready to learn, while dysregulation can occur when strong emotions, stress or challenges make it difficult to think clearly, concentrate or manage behaviour. Importantly, students are learning that dysregulation is not about being "bad" or making poor choices, but rather a sign that the brain is working hard to feel safe and meet a need.

Throughout the lessons, students will identify signs that they are becoming dysregulated and explore strategies that can help them return to a regulated state. These skills support emotional wellbeing, positive relationships and successful learning both at school and at home.

Every Day Counts - Attendance Matters

Regular school attendance is essential for student learning, wellbeing and success. Every day at school provides valuable opportunities for students to build knowledge, develop skills, strengthen friendships and participate fully in school life.

We remind families that if your child is absent from school, an explanation must be provided for each day of absence. Absences can be explained quickly and by responding to text sent on the day of the leave. Families can also use the School Bytes app to monitor their child's attendance throughout the year. Keeping track of attendance allows families and the school to work together to support students in attending regularly and achieving their best.

Our goal is for all students to maintain an attendance rate of 95% or above, which supports positive learning outcomes and engagement. School attendance monitoring processes identify students whose attendance falls below 85%. When attendance reaches this level, the school may implement additional support and intervention processes, including meetings with families and attendance improvement plans.

Thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring your child attends school every day they can and arrives ready to learn.

NSW Public Schools Survey - We Value Your Feedback

Students in Years 3 to 6 have recently been participating in the NSW Public Schools Survey. This survey provides students with an opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences about school, learning, wellbeing and engagement. Their feedback helps us better understand what is working well and identify areas for improvement.

We would also like to hear from our parents and carers. If you have not already done so, please take a few minutes to complete the Parent/Carer Survey using the link provided in the email sent home. Your feedback is highly valued and plays an important role in helping us shape future planning and continue improving outcomes for all students.

Thank you for partnering with us and contributing to the ongoing growth and success of our school community.
