The SRC are standing up against bullying

Student Representative Council (SRC)

Our Student Representative Council (SRC) students recently participated in a workshop with Ellis from The Resilience Project, where they explored and analysed the results of our Resilience Youth Survey. This valuable session provided students with the opportunity to examine the data collected from across the school and identify areas where they felt further learning, discussion and support would benefit our community.

Through thoughtful discussion, the SRC identified several key focus areas for the remainder of the year. These include developing a shared understanding of what bullying is and what it is not, promoting inclusion and addressing exclusion, learning how to get along despite differences, managing disagreements respectfully, understanding the importance of forgiveness, and encouraging students to choose kindness in their everyday interactions.

The SRC is now working collaboratively to develop a range of initiatives that will help educate and engage students across the school. These messages will be shared through a variety of platforms, including informative posters, newsletter articles, student-created podcasts, Friendship Lunch activities, role-play skits and assembly presentations. By using multiple approaches, the SRC hopes to spark meaningful conversations and provide students with practical strategies to strengthen relationships and contribute positively to our school culture.

We are fortunate to have such an enthusiastic and dedicated SRC team this year. Their passion, leadership and commitment to improving student wellbeing are already evident, and they have set themselves ambitious goals for the year ahead. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of their work as they continue to lead initiatives that promote respect, inclusion, kindness and connection throughout our school community.
