Principal's Message

Dear Applecross SHS Families
As we begin planning for the 2027 school year, the school has commenced a range of important processes to support students in achieving their personal best and to ensure we are well prepared for next year. This includes students selecting their courses and pathways, and I would like to thank families for the support and guidance they have provided their children throughout this process.
Planning for 2027 also involves developing our timetable, which in turn informs the school's staffing requirements. These preparations are essential to ensuring we can continue to provide the best learning environment and opportunities for students.
Over recent weeks, we have welcomed many prospective families to Applecross SHS through our school tours. These sessions have been extremely well attended and filled with enthusiasm as families look ahead to the next stage of their child’s educational journey. We have enjoyed answering questions and showcasing the many opportunities available at our school.
A reminder that applications for Year 7 2027 enrolment are due by 24 July 2026. Timely enrolments are important as they help inform the school's planning processes. If you have a child commencing Year 7 next year, or know of families considering Applecross SHS, please encourage them to submit their enrolment applications by the due date.
We have also recently hosted a prospective staff information event, with twenty-two teachers attending to learn more about Applecross SHS and the opportunities available within our school community.
This will be the final Parent Update for Term 2. The last day of term is Friday 3 July 2026, with students returning for Term 3 on Tuesday 21 July 2026. Please note that Monday, 20 July, is a School Development Day for staff.
As we approach the holiday break, I would like to wish all Applecross families a safe, warm and enjoyable holiday period. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support throughout the term. We look forward to continuing our work together with students, families and the wider community in Term 3.
Warm regards
Karena
