Term 3 Reminders

I wish everyone a safe and relaxing break over the next three weeks.

I remind everyone that when we return on Tuesday 21 July that the College expectations in regards to hair, uniform, blazers and behaviour will be enforced.

I bring to your attention the hair policy below.  On return, please ensure that all haircuts align with our current policy. Any student whose hair cut does not fall within the hair policy guidelines will be asked to rectify it.

Hair Policy

Students must have their hair cut according to St Pius X College requirements as follows:

  • Hair should be neatly cut and maintained at all times.

  • Hair must be above the ears with a blending hairstyle.  It must be cut and groomed so that the bulk of hair on the top of the head decreases gradually, blending with the back and sides.

  • It must be worn short enough that no hair touches the collar or extends below the top of the eyebrows.  A short all-over hair cut may be acceptable to a minimum No 2 cut.

  • Extreme hairstyles, including mohawks, step-cuts, under-cuts, radical cuts, dramatic layering, tracks, mullets, dreadlocks, strands of hair or lines are not permitted under any circumstances.

  • Colouring or dyeing, tinting, bleaching or overuse of product are not permitted.

  • If the haircut is too short, the student may be asked to wear a hat until the length is appropriate.

  • When a student’s haircut does not meet school expectations, parents of those students will be contacted, and the students may be asked to leave school to rectify it. Students may return once their haircut adheres to school policy. Other sanctions may also apply.

The Deputy Principal, Assistant Principal Pastoral Care or the Head of Junior School, at their discretion, may make an exemption for a student from complying with the haircut policy. Such grounds for exception may be due to the student’s health, religious beliefs or cultural grounds. Parents/caregivers of the student seeking an exemption are required to make an application in writing to the College Principal, Deputy Principal or Head of Junior School.

St Edmund's College Formation Day at Oxford Falls

A small group of Year 10 students from St Pius X attended Oxford Falls to take part in a Formation Day for the Year 8 students of St Edmund's College. It was an incredibly fulfilling and eye-opening experience for the Pius students who were fortunate enough to attend.

We spent the day helping with various activities, meeting new people, and bonding over sports like soccer and footy. It was awesome to ask them about their hobbies and listen to their interesting stories, but we also shared some meaningful learning moments together covering the creation story and the history of Moses.

Ultimately, the day gave us a whole new perspective and reminded us to be grateful for what we have. It showed us that despite any differences in how we live, these kids really aren't that different from us at all.

Push up Challenge

The Push-Up Challenge 2026 has been the most successful campaign ever at St Pius X College. Led by our student leaders and Wellbeing Prefects, this year saw record participation, with the largest number of students taking part and contributing to a shared goal. Together, our community completed more than 90,000 push-ups and raised $3,460 to support mental health initiatives.

The challenge highlighted the strength of our inclusive and supportive college community, bringing students and staff together through a common commitment to physical activity, wellbeing, and service.

By encouraging regular exercise, resilience, and positive habits, the challenge reinforced the important connection between physical health and mental wellbeing. The enthusiasm, teamwork, and generosity shown throughout the campaign made it a memorable achievement and a wonderful reflection of the spirit of St Pius X College.
