Performing Arts Update
Save the date: August 6
Whole School Production
Alice the Musical
based on “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll
We are excited to announce that this year’s whole-school production will be Alice the Musical, to be performed on Thursday 6 August at Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University.
All students from Prep to Year 6 will participate as part of our Performing Arts program, with each year level performing two musical items. Based on Lewis Carroll’s much-loved tale, the show follows Alice on a magical journey through Wonderland, where she encounters unforgettable characters such as the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter.
Our Year 5–6 Main Ensemble (lead roles) auditioned in Term 4 last year, with the cast finalised in December. Rehearsals for our Main Ensemble will commence next week, while class performances will be created and rehearsed during weekly Performing Arts sessions. (Main Ensemble rehearsals will take place at lunch and snack times; schedules will be shared via Seesaw.)
Please let the school know as soon as possible if you are aware of any planned absences in the lead-up to the production, especially on performance day, so we can plan accordingly (e.g. family holidays).
More information about tickets, costumes, makeup, rehearsal details and other updates will be shared in future newsletters.
