Library

Welcome to the library for 2026.

Hi, my name is Mrs Mardi Pechar, and I have been the Library Technician at Great Ryrie Primary School since the year 2000. I am at work every day from 12:30pm to 4pm, assisting with some grades, manning the library at lunchtimes for the Quiet Reading Club where children can quietly read, return and borrow books, and maybe need a place to just relax and rest a little.

LIBRARY SESSIONS

The classroom teachers bring their grades to the library once a week to borrow and return books and enjoy the library space; the teachers will inform children of the library day.

Library bags are required when borrowing books; they help your child to keep the books together and make sure the books are protected when travelling.

OVERDUE BOOKS FROM LAST YEAR.

Thank you to the children that found library books at home over the school holidays, and have returned them safely back to the library, so greatly appreciated.

There are still a few children that have books at home, they have been allowed to borrow one book to enjoy the experience of borrowing.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

Scholastic Book Club Issue 1 has been distributed to the children, and all orders are due online via the LOOP platform by FRIDAY 13th February.

Delivery takes around 5 to 7 working days from the moment I process the orders online.

When you order for your child, your teacher receives 15% of the order back in rewards to help build up the classroom library. Scholastic Australia also supports The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Scholastic established and maintained “The Book Bunker,” a dedicated library for patients and families.

Happy Reading, Mrs Pechar 😊
