From the Principal

What a day Wednesday was!!! our first ever relocation to St Joe's, thank you to the parents for their support and willingness to adapt and be flexible. The staff were also amazing, I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and care for the children. I also cannot compliment the children enough. They were like ducks to water. I am so proud of all of them for their ability to step out of our comfort zone and go with the flow. We will continue to refine this plan and work with St Joe's just incase it becomes a semi regular thing.
Please keep the following mobile numbers in your phone in case we have another relocation day. These numbers are our emergency mobile numbers and will travel with the school on these days. On days where we are at school, you can contact the office as normal.
STM Emergency #1: 0455058797
STM Emergency #2: 0476501485
An early note for parents that the school will be closed on Friday, 6th of March for a Professional Learning Day for staff. We will also be closed on Monday 9th of March for the Labour Day Public Holiday.
Last Day of Term 1 will be on Tuesday 31st of March for those families looking to get their Easter Holiday plans underway.
Bushfire Register Information:
Please find attached some FAQ responses from MACS around our change in Extreme Bushfire Day procedure. As per my SchoolStream last week, we are close to having a relocation plan in place for St Joseph's College for future closure days.
STM Swimming Carnival:
We are excited for our 2026 School Swimming Carnival today at Belgrave Outdoor Pool. Swimming races for Years 3-6 will start around 9:15am. Whole school games will start around 10:15am. These will take place in the shallow end of the pool, so the students do not need to be strong swimmers to participate in the games.
Working Bee:
Thank you to the families who have committed to our Working Bee on Saturday morning. There are lots of jobs to be done around the school and many hands will make much lighter work. The morning will run from 9:00am and conclude around 11:00am. Jane Morgan (School Gardener) will be running the morning.
Shrove Tuesday:
Shrove Tuesday, often called Pancake Day, is a significant Christian day of celebreation that immediately precedes the 40 days of Lent beginning on Ash Wednesday.
Shrove Tuesday serves as the final day of indulgence before the fasting and abstinence of Lent begins.
Next Tuesday (17.2.26) we will be having pancakes with various toppings at school. Dietary requirements will be catered for (please ensure that your nForma parent portal is up to date with any dietary information).
Please let the office know if you do not wish your child/ren to have pancakes.
NForma Parent Portal:
Please make sure you are on the Parent Portal and have updated all of the relevant medical information and emergency contacts. This app can be downloaded from the app store. The guides can be found in SchoolStream from late last year.
There are also a large number of families that have not updated medical information on the NForma Portal. This information has not crossed over from Operoo and will need to be done by parents / carers ASAP. Thanks you to the parents who have already done this!
Please contact the office if you are having difficulties getting into the app
