Music Review - Years Seven to Twelve

On Wednesday night the Music Review packed the Hall to overflowing with 180 parents and boarders spilling out the front door. Pizza was enjoyed by many people while they listened to the Primary School Rock band, Year Seven to Nine Rock Band and students from Years Eight, Nine and Ten Specialist and Contemporary music who performed to a supportive and rowdy audience.

Music from Guns and Roses, Pearl Jam and Beyonce was part of the show. It was really fantastic to have a packed house of family and friends supporting the music students.

The Music Review is a wonderful opportunity for students of all ages to perform and learn from each other in a live performance situation.

On Thursday some of the same students performed a 40 minute set to their friends at lunchtime. Most of the students from Years Seven to Ten packed into the Hall and were a really supportive audience for their peers.

Fleur Schell workshop

A group of 16 Great Southern art educators and artists spent the weekend with renown ceramic artist, Fleur Schell learning all about the magic of porcelain. We made tea- cups, creatures and the most amazing highly decorated teapots. Fleur is an incredibly generous and inspiring teacher.

Meanwhile, our Year Seven students have been exploring the magic of paperclay to create ocean inspired sculptures. They have been looking at the artist, Courtney Mathieson.
