LEGO League Competition
Year Seven students, Josh Pegler and Cooper Dixon have participated in the First LEGO League competition in Mount Barker. They formed a community team with members from last year's team, "We Did It for the Cookies," as there was no team from GSG this year.
Over the last two terms, they have worked diligently to code their SPIKE robot, which they borrowed from GSG. The team also created an innovation project and even designed team T-shirts!
The team has worked hard to achieve their success and are now on their way to the Perth Competition of the First LEGO League, which will be held in early December.
The "We Did It for the Cookies" team is a community team sponsored by South Coast Sports Medicine and supported by Albany Primary School and Great Southern Grammar. The team consists of six Year Seven students: four from Albany Senior High School (ASHS) and two from GSG.

Outdoor Education - Fishing
During Term Four, it was Mokare's turn for our Year Seven students to explore the local waterways and engage in fishing activities.
Recently, we visited the Kalgan and King Rivers, where we successfully caught an abundant supply of Trumpeters and Bream. Last week's session focused on mastering the technique of catching squid.
We extend our congratulations to Joshua Pegler and Ando Gatti for each securing a southern calamari specimen, which Mr Symonds had the pleasure of taste-testing on Monday evening.
Next week, the students will have another opportunity to refine their skills in catching, cleaning, and preparing seafood for a true ocean-to-plate experience.
