Principals Message

Dear parents and carers,

We believe strong community-home-school relationships are vital to the culture of our school. In fact research tells us parent and community involvement actually increases student achievement.

I would like to acknowledge the work of Megan Ellbourn, one of our dedicated parents, who has been committed to improving the learning outcomes of our students for a number of years. In fact Megan has worn two hats, President of the Parents and Friends Association and a member of the School’s Advisory Council.

Megan has brought a variety of skills and knowledge to both organisations. She has a background in finance, strong community understanding, excellent communication skills, and a sense of humour. Megan has been a valuable member of the School Advisory Council, offering her insight into the strategic direction of the school. Her work as a P&F member has been tireless, organising, with her small team, opportunities to raise money for our schools and increase parental involvement.

As 2024 comes to a finish we will see the end of Megan’s relationship with SXG as her youngest child heads into Yr 7. Our deepest thanks and appreciation go to Megan for everything she has done for our school.

Kind regards,

Jen
