Junior Years

What a fantastic time our students have had in Junior Years this year. There has been an amazing range of learning opportunities provided for our students which have led to growth in independence, creativity and learning. We are so proud of the way our students have embraced each moment to play and learn and attempted new and exciting activities.

In term 4 our students had a wonderful time participating in the Move-a-thon. Students walked, swam or rode laps to support their fundraising efforts. It's always a joy seeing our students step out of their comfort zones and attempt a challenging activity with enthusiasm.

Half of our cohort completed their swimming sessions with Mary in the first half of the term, while the other half are having their lessons currently. Our students love hopping in the warm pool and practicing their kicking, floating and bubble blowing under the watchful eye of Mary. The sessions are so well received by the students and is a highlight of the week for many of them.

At our final assembly we celebrated our many students displaying our school values, with Monty Awards and also our very special Performing Arts award recipients - Ronan, Mehmet and Bastian. Jacqui, our Performing Arts teacher, chose those three boys for their amazing participation in Performing Arts this semester and they all received a special certificate to take home. Well done, boys!

As we edge closer to the end of the year, teachers in Junior Years will be reviewing your child's IEP goals and making recommendations for their goals in 2025. The term 4 SSG meetings will be an opportunity to meet with your child's teacher and discuss the growth they've made towards their goals and gain any insights from families for the direction of your child's IEP for 2025. Keep an eye on upcoming Compass updates for SSG booking availability.

As this is our final newsletter entry for Junior Years this year, I want to thank all our families for their continued support and trust the last 4 weeks of term will be fun, creative and action packed, with some Christmas carols thrown in there too.
