Head of Primary Years' Report
Dear parents and carers,
I am privileged and excited to serve as the Head of Primary Years at Hazel Glen College. Together, we will continue to build a positive, supportive, and connected school community where every student has the opportunity to thrive. My commitment is to work collaboratively with all of you to foster a learning environment that encourages growth, respect, and success. I look forward to getting to know each of you and to working together toward a successful school year.
Congratulations to Kate O'Halloran and Stephanie Reid on being appointed to roles on the Primary Years Principal Team for 2025. This is an exciting announcement, and I have full confidence in their ability to lead with vision, dedication, and passion. I know that they will support a positive and enriching environment for the school community. We look forward to seeing the incredible impact they will make in shaping the future of our school.
I would like to congratulate our newly appointed Primary Years Captains Ben and Lily and Primary Years Vice Captains William and Zali. These students have demonstrated exceptional leadership, responsibility, and a strong commitment to our school values. As Captains, they will play a vital role in supporting their peers and leading by example. Please join me in congratulating them on this well-deserved achievement. We are excited to see how they will inspire and guide our Primary Years students next year.
Final Prep Transition and Meet the Teacher BBQ
To celebrate our final prep transition to welcome our 2025 Preps, the Prep and leadership team hosted a BBQ in our Prep outdoor area after school. This event was well attended by the school community and a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with each other and our school. Thank you for attending this special event and we look forward to many new families joining our college community next year.
A big thank you to Ms Rebecca Felle and the Year 3 team who have been taking the Year 3 students to swimming this term. Our students have enjoyed this valuable experience learning life long skills for water safety and refining their strokes.
There is information in the news regarding the ages of students accessing social media at the moment. On occasions we have reports of messaging outside of school hours between students that can often result in conflict or unresolved tension at school. We ask that parents remind students of online safety requirements and maintain vigilance in monitoring their child's use of messaging services from their devices. Here is helpful parent information regarding cyber safety:
Don't forget to join us for our annual Community Carols event this year on Monday the 16th of December on the Primary Years Oval from 6-8 pm. Students have been busy preparing their Christmas songs and performances. We look forward to them sharing these with us. This is a fun way for us all to get together to celebrate the year and share in some Christmas fun.
