Deputy Principal

Dear Parents and families,

It has certainly been a busy few weeks with our assessments,  swimming program, Christmas Carols rehearsals and general classroom structures and routines remaining our number 1 priority. We also welcomed new students for 2025 today as they enjoyed a transition day with their new cohort and it was lovely to see some new friendships being formed.

A highlight of my week was celebrating the successes of some of our Year 6 students as they venture off to secondary school. There is so much to celebrate at this time of year and the year 6's are in full swing preparing for their graduation in  a few weeks.

During our swimming program I've had the opportunity to supervise various classes on the yard when they have returned from the pool. The creativity and varied outdoor activities have astounded me and the way the students have played and included others has made me very proud of our students at Sacred Heart. Dodge ball, cricket, soccer, basketball, long jump, leap frog, gymnastics,  pokemon trading cards and drawing are just a few.

PLAYGROUP

Today we had a wonderfiul turn up to playgroup, despite the heat.  It was great to see so many prospective preps attend this morning, we even had one in uniform already! A huge thankyou to our LSO Carol for sharing her musical talent with a variety of songs and to our gorgeous year 5 students who stepped in  to help at playgroup this morning. Also thankyou to Father Martin for allowing us to use the Church foyer during our building program so playgroup can contnue.

Our next playgroup will be Christmas themed on Friday 6th of December. We will participate in some Christmas craft and singing. Please dress in Christmas clothes and bring a small plate of Christmas treats to share. We look forward to seeing you there.

ALL PRE SCHOOLERS WELCOME.

SCHOOL HATS TERM 4

A reminder to all students to wear our school hats outside during playtimes and PE lessons. Please apply sunscreen before school and students can reapply it during the day if necessary. NO HAT NO PLAY!

REMINDER ABOUT USING THE SCHOOL CROSSING

As student safety is paramount at Sacred Heart, please make a concerted effort touse our school crossing before and after school. The 2 minute zone is such a busy place  before and after school and it frightens me watching families crossing  in between and in front of cars. Please set an example to your children and cross at the crossing, even if it takes a couple of minutes longer.

Wishing you all a wonderful restful weekend and stay cool and hydrated in the heat over the weekend,

Brigid Pennington
