The Grade Two Day Camp at Mt Evelyn is available on Sentral to make payment and give permission. Look out for additional notices that will be sent home soon, which need to be filled out and returned, such as dietary requirements and medical forms.

Thank you to our grade one families and their support of our 'Onederful Day!' It was a busy and fun day with our students! Many thanks to our parent helpers who helped make our day such an amazing success!
CURRICULUM
📚 Phonemic awareness: reading and phonics
To support our work using the UFLI program students use their iPad's twice a week to manipulate letters and sounds on a blending board. We would appreciate iPads coming to school fully charged each day.
Students will complete two sounds this week.
Grade One Students are continuing their work on vowel teams and will look long e. Students will read decodable words, phrases and texts. They will learn the following heart words: above, among.
What can you do at home?
-Assist your child to read their 'take home' book each night
-Help your child learn to read and spell their Heart Words

Grade Two Students will continue to look at affixes focusing on pre, re and dis. Students will read decodable words, phrases and texts. They will review learnt heart words.

🌏 CBL - Curiosity
Our Term Four Big Idea is Curiosity. Students have begun to look at space and the objects that are naturally found in space and objects that have been placed there by humans.
Students will begin to make observations of the moon, and we will be encouraging students to make these observations at school and home. All students should now have their recording sheet at home and we hope you have been able to spot the moon in the night, or day, sky!
👒SUNSMART
We would like to remind you that ALL students are required to wear a broad-brimmed hat when outdoors from the 1st September, when UV levels are typically higher. Please ensure your child brings a hat to school every day to protect them from the sun's harmful rays.
