INFORMATION
🗓️ Upcoming Dates:
Wednesday 20th November: Prep 2025 Orientation Day
Monday 25th Thursday 28th November: Prep Swimming week (Friday is a backup day)
Entering classrooms during teaching time
This is a gentle reminder that if you need to drop something off to your child once the school day has started (ie. forgotten iPads, water bottles, etc after 9am), we ask that you please hand the item to the office. Lesley and Kerry will ensure that it gets to your child.
Entering the classroom during teaching and learning time can be disruptive to teaching and to children, especially those who are already feeling unsettled.
We thank you for your support with this.
🗞️ News Groups:Create something new from something old!
*Please note: Prep A News Groups will be on Friday this term

We have our final Prep transition day this week. Due to the longer session, Preps will work together in the BER with Mrs Dimitriou, Mrs Reynolds and a CRT.

📝 Literature: reading responses and writing
The mentor text will be a multimodal text by the author Kym Lardner. We will notice how a speaker delivers their story with expression to engage the audience. Students will draw a picture as a prompt to retell a personal experience and experiment with features of voice.
-Students will continue to practise handwriting formations on dotted thirds writing paper.
-They will also practise editing skills by fixing up sentences by rewriting them correctly, ensuring there is a capital letter, spaces between words and punctuation at the end of the sentence.
What can you do at home?
-Reinforce correct entry and exit points for letters if your child writes at home
-Provide authentic opportunities for your child to write at home eg. writing birthday cards, shopping lists and keeping score in games.
🔢 Maths
Students will extend their understanding of patterns. They will use numbers, colours, objects and shapes to continue and describe repeating and growing patterns.
What can you do at home?
-Play this online game:
https://www.abcya.com/games/shape_patterns
-Make patterns with objects around you eg. lego piece car, lego piece, car and keep it going! Can you make a growing pattern?
-Practise writing numbers at home, ensuring that numbers are not reversed!
