Our 2024 Walkathon

Next Tuesday 19th November, we will be holding our annual SKiPPS walkathon between 2-3pm. During the event we challenge students to complete as many laps of the school oval as possible. The event is a major fundraiser for the school and all funds raised will be used to upgrade our tired water bubblers for the start of next year!

This year we are taking the sponsorship aspect of the Walkathon online and we have provided families with an online link where they can sponsor their child to take part.

We are asking all our families to share the online link with friends and family to seek sponsors and donations for students to take part and allow for the whole community to get involved. We are thrilled that, with just under a week to go before the event, we have already raised over $5000. this is almost enough to purchase one brand new Hydrobank (see below).

We are really excited to announce that the wonderful people at McGrath St Kilda are sponsoring the event.

Excitingly, they will provide 50 cents for each lap completed on the day! This is so generous and an extra incentive to get active and complete as many laps as possible!

We also want to acknowledge our neighbours Woolworths Metro Fitzroy Street who are supporting the event with donations of icy poles to help us recover afterwards.

We will arrange class prizes for the class that complete the most laps collectively and the class that raises the most money.

All funds will go towards upgrading even more of our drinking fountains at the school to the sleek, shiny new Aquafil units (see below).

Volunteers Needed

The Walkathon also requires a large amount of parent and family volunteers on the day to act as wristband markers (this allows students to keep track of how many laps they have completed).

If you are free for an hour between 2-3pm next Tuesday then we would love you to sign up to help out on the link below;
