Around The Primary

Dear Families

Our school has been busy in the past week, with a full schedule of activities. The staff has been focussed on completing assessments and writing reports. Additionally, our Kindy and Pre-Primary teaching teams organized informative sessions for parents regarding the upcoming year. Our students have been diligently engaged in classroom activities and have had the opportunity to participate in various sports and excursions.

Special thanks to the Year 2 students for their enlightening and captivating presentation on the continents during today's Assembly.

Once again, we have partnered with St Vincent de Paul and kindly request all families to consider donating non-perishable food items or gift vouchers. These donations will be collected in baskets placed in each classroom. They will then be used to create Christmas hampers for those who are experiencing difficulties during this holiday season. It would be greatly appreciated if all donations could be brought to school by Friday 24 November to ensure that the hampers can be prepared and delivered in time for Christmas. Please refer to the attached list for items requested.

The Music Department has been dedicated towards planning a Christmas Concert scheduled for Friday 24 November. All families are invited to attend this joyous occasion, which will commence at 5:00pm in the Library Courtyard. The concert will feature entertaining showcases by the Primary Singers, Wanju Voices, and the Primary Bands.

Our Pre-Primary to Year 3 students are looking forward to taking a plunge into the exciting world of swimming lessons They are all set to make a big splash at Claremont Pools next week.

Kind regards

Disco Update

It will be ‘kiss and go’ at the doors of Roncalli Hall. Please understand that with so many students dancing and playing games in the hall, it doesn’t leave any room for parents in there too. If you wish to stay and wait, you are invited to walk across to the pavilion (near the gym) and have a chat with other parents.

Every student will need to bring a labelled water bottle.

Please be mindful that staff have worked all day, so everybody’s full cooperation is needed to take children home on time! Children will not be allowed to leave the hall without a supervising adult.

Pre-Primary to Year 2 students to be collected promptly at 6:15pm and Year 3 to 6 students at 8pm.

We are sure that it will be a fun night!

Year 3 Museum Excursion

The Year 3 students had a wonderful time on their excursion to the Perth Museum. Putting their scientific inquiry skills to the test, students took part in the ‘Classified Information’ activity, investigating the characteristics of living and non-living things. This was followed by a self-guided tour of the many museum exhibits where there were lots of exciting new facts discovered!

Sport Update

Junior Primary Swimming lessons

Pre-Primary to Year 3 begin their swimming lessons at Claremont Pool next week.  It is an extremely important unit of our Physical Education Curriculum which aims to improve swimming technique and stamina, as well as teach vital water safety skills to help keep our students safe around water.

Students are to wear their sports uniform for the week and must wear the College rashie during the lessons.

Tennis

We have had a fantastic 3 weeks of tennis with Nick Kirkbride from City Beach Tennis Club and the progress our students have made has been extensive.  Year 3 and 4 students have been learning to rally and engage in competitive games.  Our tennis program finishes with the Year 4 Interhouse Tennis Tournament taking place on Friday 24 November.

If you have any queries about anything sport related, please contact me via email: steve.williams@cewa.edu.au
