REMEMBER THERE IS NO SCHOOL:  Monday 6th or Tuesday 7th November!!!!

Dear Parents and Carers,

Each year on the 1st of November we celebrate All Saints Day. It is celebrated to honour and commemorate all saints and martyrs of the Christian faith. It is a day to remember and give thanks for the lives and contributions of those who have lived exemplary lives of faith and have been recognised by the church as saints. We remember saints because they remind us to follow Jesus and inspire us to seek his spirit in our lives and circumstances.

How do you measure up with the following? "Peak performers have more than goals, they have a vision of what their life will mean to themselves and others. Peak performers do not live in the future. Peak performers make sure each step taken in the present keeps them on the road towards their life goal.”- Extract “Peak Performers” Author unknown

Probably most of us think that saints are people who are especially good. Of course, they are, yet it is not because they love being good that has made them saints. Saints are those who saw and followed the life of Jesus in their own lives. Now the saints were not perfect all their lives, some like St Paul and St Augustine led very colourful lives before they changed their way of living and thinking. As the saying goes, 'No one is perfect.’ We can choose to be the best people we can be.

The life of Christ within us is God’s gift to us. In a sense, we are all called to be saints. We are asked no matter what your status or occupation might be, to be Christlike to the people in our particular world.

There have been many saints within our own lifetime Mary MacKillop and Pope John Paul 11 to name two- both peak performers. How many Peak Performers do you know? Do you aspire to be a peak performer?

Keep smiling

Cathy
