Speech and Drama Concerts – November 1, Dalton Hall

Emily Shao, Year 5

On 1 November, ELC to Year 12 students came together for a spectacular concert. It was a phenomenal night featuring a diversity of performances, from superheroes, princesses, elves, burritos, and even talking cats!

The ELC to Year 4 Concert consisted of cute and funny performances, while the Years 5 to 12 Concert featured acts that were realistic yet filled with bucketloads of humour. Overall, I believe everyone enjoyed themselves and went home with a smile on their faces.

Jasmine Zhang, Year 5

My experience at the ELC to Year 4 Speech and Drama Concert was truly inspiring. All the students worked hard at rehearsals and performed exquisitely on stage.

I had the chance to perform in the Prep to Year 1 Drama Ensemble ‘It’s A Jungle Out There’, which was a memorable and enjoyable experience.

We enrolled in private lessons and attended Drama Ensemble during recess each week to make this concert come to life, and I think we nailed it. I'm so glad I was involved in this fun and exciting experience.

Holly Krischock, Year 5

On 1 November, the Years 5 to 12 Speech and Drama Concert took place. The night started off with Year 12 student Hugo Della Bosca delivering a monologue from Anton Chekov's 'The Harmfulness of Tobacco'.

I loved watching my friends' performances and witnessing their amazing speech and drama skills.

My partner, Emily Shao, and I performed 'The Hopeless Forgetful Chef' for a show called Master Cook. I had the role of director while Emily acted as the presenter. The Years 5 and 6 Drama Ensemble performance was just as fun. Thank you to Miss Nelson for this wonderful experience.

Suzuki String Soiree

On 3 November, select Suzuki String students performed solos, as well as the Suzuki Intermezzo Strings at the Suzuki String Soiree. This was the first Suzuki String concert held at Kilvington which made it very exciting.

It was great to see so many parents, friends and family at the event. Students performed very well and by memory. Congratulations to all the students, and thank you to everyone who attended.

Student achievement

Kai Tang from the ELC performed on the violin for his very first solo concert at the recent Suzuki String Soiree.

Kai played the piece 'Gavotte – Gossec' which is the last piece from Suzuki Violin Book 1. Congratulations Kai!

Petite Pianists

Congratulations to the talented Petite Pianists for their outstanding concert performance. Piano students from ELC to Year 2, led by Mrs Kate Cole and Miss Sarah Bouquet, recently presented a variety of music to their parents, friends and teachers. Well done everyone!

VCE Music Unit 2 and Year 10 Recital

On Thursday 2 November, VCE students Edgar Chen (violin) and Joe Ashmore (voice/piano) presented a program of works as part of their VCE Music Unit 2 assessment.

They were joined by students from the Year 10 Performing Arts class. Congratulations to our students, and thank you for an enjoyable evening.
