Dear Parents and Students,
And just like that… we are at the end-of-year Orientation Period!
This term has been nothing short of spectacular. Our outgoing Year 12 Students set a new bar of expectations for finishing in style. Over the first few weeks of the term, we had several events to farewell them: a whole-school assembly, house assemblies and the Year 12-led final assembly. Each of these events celebrated a truly remarkable group of students. I can hand-on-heart say that all the comments from staff after their celebration day were that this cohort finished their schooling year better than any other cohort. The feel for their final day was solely about collectively celebrating their achievements and being grateful for their time at this fantastic school.
Once again, well done to the Class of 2023. I hope the Presentation Night and Graduation, and the subsequent celebration are a fitting farewell to an incredible group of young adults.
On that note, I encourage all school community members to attend our Presentation Night and Graduation. I have emailed out Eventbrite registration links for this event. This night is the one occasion for the year that we have all of our community together to celebrate the achievements of all students. I hope it’s a full house.
I want to congratulate our Year 10 & 11 students on completing their end-of-year exams. For many of our Year 10 students, this would have been the first time completing a formal exam period. I hope all students reflect on their preparation and performance and use this as a learning experience to prepare for subsequent exam periods.
We will give exam feedback on Monday 27th November, the first day of our Orientation Program. I will email an Orientation Program Overview this week, but please note that the last day of classes will be 6th December.
However, those doing Year 12 Chemistry will have an immersion day for Chemistry on 7th December. There will be more information to come about this day.
I look forward to our final newsletter, where we can update you all about the success of our Science Fair and all the other amazing events during this jam-packed week. I hope our school community embraces the unique experiences the school provides our students. Until then, I hope to see many of you at our Science Fair Exhibition Night tonight - 20th November.
