R.E. NEWS

All Saints' Day - Wednesday 1st November

All Saints' Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church celebrated on Wednesday 1st November. The day is dedicated to the Saints of the Church, especially those who do not have their own feast day. All students will learn about this special day during their Religion lessons on Wednesday, marking the day with a special service.

All Souls' Day - Thursday 2nd November

All Souls' Day, which is observed on 2nd November, is dedicated to those people who have died.

Advanced Notice - Family Mass -  Years 1 & 4

On Sunday 5th November we invite all families to attend our Family Mass. This Mass will be Father Paul's final Family Mass as our Parish Priest, before he moves to the Armidale Parish. It is at 9.00am at Mary Help of Christians Church, Hillvue Road. Everyone is then invited to stay and share morning tea provided by families from Year 1 and Year 4.  It is a wonderful parish morning and we hope that you are able to join us.

LIBRARY NEWS

Recess Fun in the Library

It was great to welcome our students back in the Library at break times this week after our very successful Book Fair. We have Lego, Dominoes, Connect 4 and much more, or students can choose to sit quietly on our new lounge in our reading corner. Some comments from our Infants students today were "the library is the best place in the school", "the library is my happy place" and "I want to hug all the books".

Early Bird Reading Club

Please remind your child that the Early Bird Reading Club is on each day from 8.30am. This is an opportunity for students to get in some valuable quiet reading time. Every chance to read personal choice books can only help reading development and building reading abilities.

At Infants there is always an opportunity to read with the library staff. Stickers, books and lots of congratulations are always available. At Primary it is quiet independent reading in a warm comfortable space.
