CONNECTED ATHLETICS 2023
On Wednesday 15th November, 68 Good Shepherd students travelled to St Albans Reserve for the annual Connected Athletics Carnival.
St Paul Lutheran and Golden Grove Lutheran are the other two schools involved on the day, with Endeavour College providing year 11 students for marshalling and judging. The weather was amazing, as was the efforts and attitude of the students from all three schools.
At the end of the day, Good Shepherd was able to pull off a magnificent victory scoring 77 points, with St Paul and Golden Grove scoring 69 and 68 points respectively.
Thank you to all staff and students for their help and efforts, with a special thank you also to parents Mark Ormrod and Gavin Dew who helped with coaching.

GS Rockets
The GS Rockets got off to a flying start against the Pedare Sixers Wednesday afternoon with the score 14-1 at one point in the first half. Pedare fought back and the Rockets only had a slender 4 point lead at half time. The Rockets regrouped and started the second half like they did the first and the end result was a comfortable 32-20 win. Inara and William dribbled through traffic with confidence, Layla defended hard all match and Jonte and Elijah scored with ease and confidence.

GS Warriors
Well done team with a win over 2nd place Pedare Slammers 23-30. With 5 scorers again they worked as a team and the team got the win. It’s so great to see everyone’s confidence growing. Call out to Eden’s new high score, Jake taking on the ring and getting free throws, Tenny's perfect fast break and layup and Nate’s new shoes had him leading in assists.

We had no subs this week so Bodhi, Chase, Jacob, Louis and Tyson had to work hard all game. They did a great job. It was a competitive game for either team to win. The result, a draw!

GS Raptors
The GS Raptors kept their finals hopes alive with a 39-24 win over the Pedare Thunder. The team had a good even spread of scorers and all players were disciplined in their defence.

GS Stars
Returning after a bye the week before, the GS 7 & Under Stars were pumped and ready to play! We did a great job playing with 6 players, proving to be a great match and scoring 2 big goals against our toughest competition yet! We celebrated Aniko’s first goal for the season, cheered on some amazing centre court play by Matilda and Harriet, and saw some awesome defensive work and passes by Grace, Amelia and Clara. You should be super proud of your efforts girls, keep up the amazing work!

Pooraka Football Club 2024 Junior Program
The Pooraka football club are attempting to reignite their junior program in 2024 and are looking for players! This is a very important initiative to ensure that all kids can have a chance to play local football.
The club has a proud history, producing AFL legends Craig Bradley, Dwayne Russell and Alan Didak, as well as two-time Magarey medalist Zane Kirkwood.

Modbury Junior Football Club 2024 season
Modbury Junior Football Club are a community club with boys, girls, and mixed teams in the SANFL Junior competition in 2023, ranging from under 7's (born 2017) through to under 17.5's (born 2007).
