JLA

Our JLA students are buzzing with excitement as we count down the days to our upcoming excursion to Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium!

In preparation for our underwater adventure, students have been diving deep into a range of non-fiction texts all about fascinating sea creatures, from playful penguins to majestic stingrays and mysterious sharks.

To help plan their day, students have been exploring the Sea Life website and studying the aquarium map.

Catherine: I can’t wait to see baby penguins because I want to see what colour they are when they are young!

William S: I want to see turtles and watch them play and interact with each other.

Martina: I would like to see KT the penguin because he is cute, and I want to see Pesto the penguin because I want to see his fluffy grey feathers.

Evie N: I would like to see a jellyfish because I would like to see the flower pattern. I would also like to see a penguin because of its soft feathers! Also, a clownfish because of its vibrant stripes!

Aliyah: I am looking forward to seeing star fish because they are actually not fish, that’s why they are also called sea stars. A sea stars mouth is also underneath their body!

Ariana: I am looking forward to seeing the jellyfish because they look very interesting, and their body looks fun to experience.

It’s been wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm grow as we prepare for this unforgettable learning experience. Stay tuned, there’ll be plenty of photos and stories to share after our trip!

Confirmation

Our JLA students have also been busy working on creating Confirmation letters for the Year 6 students. We’ve been learning about the Sacrament of Confirmation and the importance of encouraging and supporting others in their faith journey.

The students thoughtfully wrote personal letters filled with kind words, blessings, and messages of encouragement to help inspire and support the Year 6s as they prepare to receive the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
